Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1Arrival to Cusco

Cusco Airport Transfer: Assistance upon arrival in Cusco, transportation to your hotel, and assistance at the airport.
The remainder of the morning is free for you to relax and recover from the high altitude.
Relax and explore this wonderful city for the remainder of the day.

Suggested flight schedule — Lima (10:50am) – Cusco (12:15pm)

Day 2 Tour to the Sacred Valley (Pisac & Ollantaytambo)

Breakfast at hotel; pick up from your hotel at 07:30am. We will embark on a journey back in time to the Inca´s Sacred Valley beginning in Pisac, 31 km from Cusco. The ancient Incan archeological site and city is located on the top of a mountain. There you will have the chance to witness the impressive stonemasonry skill of our ancient ancestors. 

Afterward you will go down into the quaint little town and wander through its colorful market where you can buy intricate, beautifully hand-crafted products.

Afterward lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Then we will continue to Ollantaytambo, a military, religious, and agricultural center of the Incas located at the top of a mountain. Note: unlike other small towns, this one has maintained its original Incan design including outstanding stone buildings and narrow streets. It was once used as a fortress, administrative and urban center.

After the tour we will make our way to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will catch the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Expedition train — Ollantaytambo (19:04pm) – Aguas Calientes (20:45pm)

Day 3Visit to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu & Back to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; at 06:00am you will ride a bus to Machu Picchu archeological site (2,430m/7,972ft) declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, the hilltop citadel deserved every bit of its fame.
Around 07:30am the guided tour begins, the guide will expertly direct you throughout the astounding ruins and its main streets. You can then wander around the town squares as well as climb the intricately carved stairways made of stone. Machu Picchu is considered to be the world’s spiritual center by esoteric wisdom. The guided tour takes around two hours.
From 10:30am to 12:30pm once the guided tour is over, you will have some free time to explore the citadel on your own.
From 12:30pm to 13:30pm take bus to Aguas Calientes.
From 13:30pm to 15:00pm take lunch at local restaurant in Aguas Calientes.
Return to Cusco: later board the train for the return trip to Cusco. You will stop at the Poroy station and then be picked up and driven to your hotel in Cusco.

Expedition train — Aguas Calientes (15:20pm) – Cusco (19:05pm)

Note about train tickets: We will attempt to book tickets on this train, but if there are timetable changes or trains are fully booked, we may need to book an alternative service.

Day 4Colorful Cusco Walking Tour – Flight to Lima

Breakfast at hotel; pick up from the hotel at 09:00am – walking tour will begin at Colourfull San Pedro market, there’s probably no better market to experience Cusqueñan life. Enjoy a first-hand look at how local residents live day-to-day outside the postcard perfection of Cusco’s main square. The guide will explain the history of this market as you wander through the narrow aisles laden with colorful fabrics, meals, fruit juice, breads, shaman stalls, etc.
After we visit Cusco’s main square, a busy and vibrant space that marks the colonial center of the city; which features wide stone pathways and well-kept colorful gardens.
Then we walked towards the street of Hatun Rumiyoc. The walls of the palace have a Snake and Puma on it. Moreover, there you can observe the well-known 12 angle stone which is a symbol of perfection in Incan Architecture.
After, we will head to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha) upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo has been built. Interesting fact: according to a legend, this temple was entirely gold plated which left many conquerors impressed with its magnificence when they came here! – The tour will end around 13:00pm.
At 15:00pm pick up from the hotel and transfer to Cusco airport.

Q: ¿Does Kempor tours require COVID-19 vaccination for travel?

A: Changes and Cancellation by the Client

Any changes to the original booking must be confirmed by the person signing the booking form. Any costs or charges, which we incur or which are incurred or levied by our supplier as a result of the amendment, will be charged to the client.Whilst every reasonable effort will be made  to accommodate changes and additional requests, their availability cannot be guaranteed.

The Client may cancel the booking at any time provided that the cancellation is communicated to Kempor Tours in writing. Cancellation charges will be applied as shown below calculated from the day written notification is received by Kempor Tours. In addition to the charges shown below airlines may impose 100% cancellation charges.

 

  1. Seventy days or more days prior to departure, non-refundable deposit.
  2. 45-59 days; we will retain – 20% of the trip cost.
  3. 30-44 days; we will retain – 40% of the trip cost.
  4. 15-29 days; we will retain – 50% of the trip cost.
  5. We will retain – 70% of the trip costs for fifteen days or less.
  6. Less than 7 Days before departure date or no-show:100% of the trip cost.

Q: ¿Does Kempor tours require COVID-19 vaccination for travel?

A: Kempor tours require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination on all our Small Group and Private group. Guests on all journeys must comply with country entry and service provider requirements.

Q: What vaccines are accepted by Kempor tours?

A: Kempor tours accept all approved vaccines per the World Health Organization. However, guests must also comply with specific vaccination requirements for country entry. Some countries now require a booster shot if full vaccination for COVID-19 has been administered more than a designated number of days prior to arrival. Visit the U.S. Department of State or the Government of Canada for current entry requirements by country.

Q: ¿Are children required to be vaccinated?

A: Yes, all guests, including children, must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination on all Small Group and Private group services.

Q: Are booster shots required?

A: At this time, booster shots are not required by Kempor Tours. However, guests must comply with country vaccination requirements for entry and service provider requirements which may be more restrictive. Some countries now require that full vaccination for COVID-19 and/or a booster shot must be administered at least 14 days and no more than a designated number of days prior to arrival. To meet changing requirements, a booster shot is recommended. Visit the U.S. Department of State or the Government of Canada for current entry requirements by country.

Q: What if I am not vaccinated? What are my options?

A: Our Travel Consultants can work with you to travel on a Tailor Made or Group service destination where vaccinations are not required.

Q: Are there special COVID-19 related entry requirements for the country I want to travel to?

A: Some countries and service providers require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and/or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for entry. Visit the U.S. Department of State or the Government of Canada for current entry requirements by country.

Q: ¿Do I have to wear a mask while travelling?

A: On all journeys, masks must be worn in accordance with local regulations and service provider requirements. We encourage you to bring your own masks; a supply will be on hand where needed. Note all protocols are subject to change in accordance with relevant guidelines, local regulations and conditions.

 

Q: ¿Does Kempor Tours assist with COVID-19 testing if it is required during my journey and to return home?

A: Kempor Tours will facilitate any required in-country testing during your journey or for onward travel. Costs for testing are payable directly to the testing provider at time of service by either credit card or cash depending on the destination.

Q: What happens if I test positive for COVID-19 while traveling?

A: If you receive a positive COVID-19 test result, you will be required to follow the local and service provider regulations, which may include quarantine and testing. Any associated costs will be the responsibility of the guest.

Q: Is a COVID-19 test required to return home from my journey?

A: If you are a U.S. or Canadian resident returning home, there are currently no COVID-19 testing requirements for entry. Guests continuing to other countries should check the specific COVID-19 entry requirements for those destinations.
